Thomas Squeaks Past Brenau

Thomasville, GA- The Brenau soccer team ventured out of conference play this afternoon and traveled to South Georgia for a matchup with Thomas University and came away with a 1-0 loss. Thomas scored at the 38 minute mark of the first half and the Tigers were playing catchup the rest of the way. The game was evenly matched with the home team getting seven shots on goal to five for Brenau.Tori Futrell and Innis Ette played well on the defensive end and Lily Futrell and Marilyn Anderson were outstanding on the other side of the ball. "We just can't seem to generate enough scoring opportunities to do anything offensively," said Coach Mike Lochstampfor. The Tigers have been hampered with a number of injuries in the last half of the season and are hoping to get healed up in time for the conference playoffs. With one game remaining at #1 seed Lee University on Tuesday, Brenau could finish anywhere from tied for second place to tied for fourth place in the SSAC.
