Gainesville, Ga. - When the Brenau soccer team faces off against Brewton Parker on Saturday at 3 pm in a very important SSAC match, four Tiger players will be playing in one of their last home games. The game is an important one for both teams since they are vying for a playoff berth in the conference tournament in several weeks.
Senior midfielder Dolapo Obahor (Kaduna, Nigeria) has played two seasons for the Tigers after transferring from Belhaven, MS. She has played in 30 games, scoring seven goals and accumulating 3 assists. A highlight of her career was the three goals she scored earlier this week in a 5-0 rout of Columbia. She will graduate in May with a degree in Accounting.
Junior defender Tori Futrell (Savannah) has played in 48 games in three seasons, scoring 11 goals. She has been a mainstay for the Brenau defense and was named to the 2009 Second Team SSAC All Conference team. She will graduate early in May with a Biology degree. She is a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Senior goalkeeper Lisa Lesnick (Surfside Beach, SC) has played four seasons at Brenau and appeared in 52 games, accumulating 329 saves. She is a two-time All Conference selection, making the first team in 2008 and the second team in 2009. She will graduate in Mass Communications in May and is also a member of Delta Delta Delta.
Senior forward Lauren Hagin (Hiram) has also played for four years and appeared in 63 games for the Tigers. Hagin has scored 10 goals and dished out eight assists at Brenau. She was selected as SSAC All Academic in 2008 and 2009 and was an NAIA Scholar Athlete in 2009. She will leave Brenau with a degree in Interior Design.
"All four of these players have made a significant impact on our soccer program. Their collective impact on this team can't be overstated and we will truly miss them as they move on to the next phase of their lives. I have genuinely enjoyed coaching each one of them and I know they will continue to be successful in all their future endeavors," said Head Coach Mike Lochstampfor.
