Tigers Lose Defensive Struggle With Shorter
October 31, 2010
Rome, Ga - The Brenau soccer team locked up in a defensive battle with Shorter on Saturday and came up short 1-0 in a SSAC match. The winning goal came at the 81:52 mark when the Hawks Kelli Davis punched in a rebound off a Lisa Lesnick save. Lesnick, who had seven saves on the day had actually saved two consecutive shots on the play before Davis knocked it in.
The Tigers were outshot 23-4 in the match and had two shots on goal, compared to eight for the home team. Brenau's defense was outstanding in this game, as it has been all season, but couldn't mount a strong offensive attack to pull out the match.
The Tigers will play their final home game of the season on Monday at 7 pm when they play host to Southern Wesleyan University at Allen Creek Soccer Complex.
