Ellison Signs with Brenau Soccer
Kaylee Ellison's transition this fall should be an easy one as she leaves one tiger family and heads to another. Ellison, a 2012 graduate of Auburn HS (AL), recently finished her final year of high school soccer in amazing fashion. Her team made history as it played in its' first state championship game completing the historic season with a 21-2-2 record and recording 19 shutouts in the process.
Kaylee has played on competitive teams throughout her life- beginning in elementary school when she first stepped foot on the field with the Auburn Thunder Club team- and winning two state championships in the process. As a ninth grader at Auburn High School, she made the high school varsity team- a feat in and of itself. As a sophomore and junior, her team twice made it to the state tournament and advanced to the final four. As a junior, she switched clubs and played both years for the U-18 Athena team coached by Scooter McCullough. In this, her final season with her Auburn Tigers, her team narrowly missed capturing the Class 6A state high school championship in May when they were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Oak Mountain HS.
For the Golden Tigers, Ellison will likely play as a defender or possibly see time as a wide midfielder. Coach Mike Lochstampfor likes Kaylee's ability to transition to either position," Kaylee has excellent pace and is able to serve a nice ball from the side so I can see her being more effective in an attacking role. She has a great work ethic and attitude and I'm excited about her transitioning from her Auburn Tiger family to our Golden Tiger family!"
At Brenau, Kaylee plans to major in Nursing and brings the academic qualifications to help make that happen. She is academically very gifted and has been named to several honor societies including the National German Society, Mu Alpha Theta and the National Honor Society.
