Brenau Soccer Shuts Out Southern Wesleyan
A dominating defensive effort and a balanced offensive attack led the #13 Brenau Golden Tigers to an overwhelming 6-0 shutout against conference foe Southern Wesleyan University on Saturday.
In the 11th minute, Esther Anyanwu (Lagos, Nigeria) continued her offensive tear, scoring early to give Brenau and early 1-0 lead.

Senior Rachel Zarach (Acworth, Ga.) added to the scoring as she took Madsen's second assist of the game to increase the lead to 4-0. Fellow senior Hannah Norwood (Grayson, Ga.) added to the first half route, scoring just before the half to give Brenau a 5-0 lead into the intermission.
Madsen, who assisted on two first half goals, added her own score in the 60th minute to give the Golden Tigers a 6-0 lead.
The Golden Tigers, who took 19 shots on goal, held the Warriors to zero shots on goal in the match.
Todays match marked the conclusion of a season of `firsts` for Brenau soccer. We were able to get everyone in to the game today, our defense didn't allow a shot and we put some nice balls in the back of the net on the opposite end", said head coach Mike Lochstampfor. "We look forward to the start of tournament play and meeting Faulkner next week at home"
The victory sealed a second place conference finish for Brenau (14-3-1, 10-1 overall) and concludes the regular season slate. The Golden Tigers will host Faulkner (Al.) University in the SSAC Tournament on Saturday.
