Late Goal Trips Soccer in Double Overtime

A late goal in the second overtime propelled visiting #22 Reinhardt (Ga.) University past the Brenau soccer team 2-1 on Wednesday in Gainesville.

The Golden Tigers started strong as freshman Alexis Satterfield found sophomore Maddie Corley to give the home team a 1-0 lead early. The goal marked the second of the year for Satterfield.

The visiting Lady Eagles evened the score in the second half to take a 1-1 tie into overtime.

Through the first overtime, both defenses played tough, as neither team could take advantage. In the second overtime, the Golden Tigers were called for a foul in the box to give the visitors a penalty kick. On the penalty, Reinhardt's Allie Hale beat Brenau keeper Anela Melton to escape with the win.

Brenau (3-2 overall) next travels to Tennessee Wesleyan College on Saturday for a 1:30 pm matchup.
