Soccer Earns SSAC Postseason Honors
Members of the Brenau soccer team were honored by the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) for their performances during the season, the conference announced Tuesday.
Alexis Satterfield and Iman Williams were both honored as members of the 2016 SSAC All-Freshman Team for their play during the season. Satterfield, a native of Dawsonville, Ga, notched two goals and three assists during her inaugural season. Williams, a native of Snellville, Ga, scored three goals this season, which placed her in a tie for second on the team.
Six members of the squad were also selected as SSAC All-Academic Team for their successes in the classroom. Taylor Bennett, Jasmine Brewster, Sara Heard, Jensen Meaux, Chayla Park and Ashley Spring were honored for having at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA or higher over a minimum of 24 semester hours of college level work.
Brewster was also honored as the Brenau Champions of Character award winner. Honorees are selected for their contributions to the Five Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.
According to head coach Mike Lochstampfor, "It's great to have such a significant representation for Brenau on all of these SSAC teams! I am very proud of these student-athletes who work very hard and do very well in both their academic and athletic pursuits!"
