Soccer Players Receive AAC Postseason Honors

Kingsport, Tennessee- Members of the Brenau soccer team were recognized by the Appalachian Athletic Conference for their academic achievements, the conference announced on Thursday.

Seniors Jacquelyn Christoph and Elli Johnson and sophomores Rebecca McDaniel, Stacy Mendoza, Daphne Ramirez, Itzel Rivera and Michelle Vu each earned AAC All-Academic status for their outstanding academic achievement. Student-athletes must maintain a minimum of a 3.25 and have achieved sophomore or higher status to be considered for this honor.

Additionally, McDaniel was named as the team's Champions of Character honoree for the 2019 season. Champions of Character team members best represent the NAIA's Five Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.

"It's great to see the impressive commitment to both the academic success and the culture of character that is important in the lives of our student-athletes," said head coach Mike Lochstampfor. "I am very proud of each of these young women and their positive representation of Brenau University!"
