Soccer Blanks Bluefield 4-0 in AAC Competition

Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau soccer team overwhelmed Bluefield (Va.) College 4-0 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Saturday.

The Golden Tigers started the scoring early as senior Rebecca McDaniel took a pass from fellow senior Abbie George to notch her first goal of the season and give her team a 1-0 lead.

In the 30 minute mark, Brenau added to the early lead as junior Camila Penagos found senior Gizelle Evan, who beat Rams' keeper Emily Ledford for a 2-0 lead.

In the second half, Brenau continued to score goals as George scored an unassisted goal for a 3-0 lead, then senior Itzel Rivera scored inside the 84th minute to close out the 4-0 victory.

Golden Tigers keeper Daphne Ramirez notched three saves in the win as the defense held the visiting Rams offense in check throughout the match.

Brenau (1-3 overall, 1-3 AAC) next travels to Milligan (Tenn.) (3-4 overall, 2-3 AAC) on Wednesday at 5:00 pm in Milligan College, Tennessee.
