Converse Edges Brenau In Dual Swim Meet

Gainesville, GA- Sophomore Lucianne Kimura won three events to lead the way for the Brenau swim team, but Converse, SC edged the Tigers 47-41 in dual meet action today at the Brenau pool. Kimura was part of the winning 400 Free Relay team of Ana Galesic, Julia Ferreira and Lauren Harville that clocked a 3:57.24 and won two individual races, the 100 Butterfly (1:02.65) and the 100 Backstroke (1:03.74). Galesic also won two individual events, the 50 Free (26:53) and the 100 Free (57.92) and was part of the same group that won the 400 Free Relay as they clocked a 1:59.92 in the 200 Medley Relay and qualify for NAIA Nationals. Harville picked up two 2nd places (1650 Free, 20:22.87 and the 500 Free, 5:56.13), as did Julia Ferreira (100 Breast, 1:14.83 and 200 IM, 2:25.38). "We met the qualifying standard for all our events except for the 500 Free, and I am very pleased with the effort of our swimmers," said Coach Gabby Matthews.
