Meredith Barrington Signs With Brenau

Macon, Ga - Brenau Head Swimming Coach Blaire Bachman has landed her first recruit for the class of 2011 with the signing today of Meredith Barrington. Barrington is a senior at Covenant Academy and serves as captain for her high school swim team. She also competes for the Warner Robins Aquanauts Swim Club.

Meredith has been a USA Georgia All Star five years in a row and was named Middle Georgia Swimmer of the Year in 2008. She is the first athlete in the history of her high school to earn a college scholarship. In addition to her exploits in the pool, Barrington was nominated for Georgia Junior LSC Representative and has been a Covenant Academy Ambassador all four years of high school. She will major in Political Science and double minor in Mathematics and Psychology at Brenau.

"Meredith is an outstanding swimmer and will add great depth to the butterfly, individual medley and sprint relay events," said Coach Bachman. "She is a passionate swimmer with a background of hard work and will be a top level performer for the Golden Tigers."
