Atlanta, Ga - The Brenau swim team competed this weekend at the Emory Fall Invitational, the third away meet for the Golden Tigers in less than a month. Lisa Portwood continued her outstanding freshman season with great results in the 400 IM (5:02.89), 200 IM (2:21.16), 100 fly (1:05.94) and 200 back (2:19.11).
Melissa Bofto made her first national qualifying time in the 400 IM (5:08.32) and Julia Ferreira did well in the 200 IM (2:23.39) and the 200 breaststroke (2:37.83). Ana Galesic swam a personal best time in 50 free (26.20) and the 200 back (2:24.26) and Monica Souther had a strong effort in the 100 free (1:03.43). Brianne Russ lowered her time in the 100 free (1:02.86). The 200 free & 400 medley relay teams both lowered their season bests as the team continues to position itself for the NAIA Championships in March.
"I am proud of the girls and their ability to continue to drop times, hit personal bests and stay competitive week after week, said Head Coach Blaire Bachman. "This weekend is a great indicator that we are ready for the upcoming taper meet in December at SCAD."
