December 20, 2010
Gainesville, Ga - Brenau University Swim Coach Blaire Bachman has announced the addition of Hannah Boudreaux (Lafayette, LA), a transfer from NCAA II Delta State, to the team beginning in January. Boudreaux was an Academic All-American for Div 2 in 2010 and received the 2009-2010 Swimming Newcomer Award for Delta State.
She was also female athlete of the week once at Delta State. Hannah swam breaststroke on the 400 Medley Relay (A cut), swam the 400 IM (4:37-B cut), and the 200 IM (2:10-B cut) at the NCAA Division II Nationals in 2010. As a high school swimmer Boudreaux received the high point award four years in a row and was All-State and All-District. She is planning on majoring in health science and looking into physical therapy school after that.
Boudreaux was a four-year letter winner for head coach Debbie Iblings at Lafayette High School where she competed in the 200-meter individual medley and the 100-meter breaststroke. She competed in the state meet all four years of high school, and was named to her All-District team those four years. Hannah finished third in two events at the 2008 Louisiana 5A state meet. She is the daughter of Bonny and Gary Boudreaux.
"We are thrilled to have Hannah as a member of our Swimming program for this coming January." said Coach Bachman. "She comes to us with a very competitive collegiate swimming background, extremely strong work ethic and I believe she has the potential to be a real leader for the team as an entering sophomore."
