Camden County Swimmer Signs With Golden Tigers
Gainesville, GA - This past Friday, Swim Coach Blaire Bachman announced the signing of Sarah Yawn (Kingsland, GA). Yawn will soon be a graduate from Camden County High School, where she has advanced her technique for the past several years. While attending Camden County, Yawn received various academic awards, such as: A/B Honor Roll for the past 4 years, and the Science Excellence Award, while also maintaining a 3.0 Grade Point Average (out of a 4.0 scale). Sarah has vocalized that while she attends Brenau University, she intends on majoring in Biology. She hopes this degree will direct her towards the profession of Marine Biology or Wildlife Management.
In regards to swimming, her resume is quite extensive. As a young child, Sarah began to swim for the Camden County Boomers Swim Club, year round. While under their guidance, she appeared at the Georgia Swimming State Championships, from the ages of 10-14. Moreover, as she progressed as an athlete, she managed to attend the Georgia High School State Championships, for 3 consecutive years.
Yawn is sure to be an asset to both the Swimming program, as well as the Brenau University Community, due to the fact that she truly understands how important it is to balance your academic, athletic, and personal life. With that said, for the past 6 years Sarah has taken it upon herself to get involved with the local Humane Society, where she still continues to volunteer every Saturday. Yawn also has managed to find other ways to stay around the pool, such as volunteering to be a life guard; she has been doing this for the duration of 3 years.
Coach Bachman was caught boasting on her newest recruit, saying "I am thrilled to have Sarah Yawn join our swim team for the upcoming year, as she comes to the Golden Tigers having been a year round swimmer for over 10 years. Sarah is not only a great student, but will contribute to our program by adding depth to our sprint fly, middle, and distance freestyle events."
