St. Simons' Super Star Transfers to Brenau
Gainesville, GA - Head Swim Coach, Blaire Bachman, has declared that Jessica Graff committed to the Golden Tigers Swim Team for the 2011-2012 season. Graff is a native of St. Simons, GA, who chose to transfer from Darton College.
While attending Darton, Jessica was acknowledged for her academic achievements, by being named to the Dean's List; moreover, she was awarded the Dean's Scholarship. Throughout 2010 and 2011, she competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). At Nationals, in 2010, Graff swam the 200 Breast and placed 7th, the 100 Breast and placed 10th, and the 400IM and placed 5th. In 2011, Jessica appeared at Nationals again; she placed 8th in the 200IM, 10th in the 400IM, and 11th in the 200 Breast.
Before Darton College, Jessica was a student-athlete at Glynn Academy, where she graduated with honors in 2009. While competing for her high school swim team, Graff lettered all 4 years, acquiring the Team Captain title her senior year. On top of the time and dedication she put towards her school team, she chose to train year round outside of Glynn Academy. Graff swam for the Brunswick YMCA Waterdawgs for 6 straight years; within those 72 months Jessica spent all her free time practicing and critiquing her technique, in the hopes to better her time and compete at the collegiate level.
Coach Bachman was excited to talk about the newest swimmer on her team. "Jessica is a wonderful addition to our team, and as a transfer she brings much academic and athletic success. Having competed at the national level, I am sure that Jessica will go above and beyond, reaching new goals at Brenau. Her dynamic personality is a great fit with our team and we are happy to welcome her as a Golden Tiger!"
