Michelle Billeaud Named Golden Tiger of the Week

GAINESVILLE, Ga - Freshman Michelle Billeaud, from Lafayette, LA, was named the Golden Tiger of the Week. The Brenau University athletics department awarded Billeaud the title based on her outstanding performance, this past weekend.

The Golden Tigers swim team competed in the Converse College All Women's Invitational, and placed 2nd overall. Brenau finished 1st in 8 out of 16 events.

While at the Invitational, Billeaud set two new Brenau swim records. She broke the record in the 100 backstroke, with a time of 1:00.00, while racing past the competition in the 200 backstroke, setting a time of 2:10.06.

The rookie clearly had an impressive weekend as she set a new personal best time, by shaving 5 seconds off her 200 back event. Michelle has already qualified for the NAIA National Championships in the 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, and 200 back.

This Golden Tiger continues to gain further recognition, as her times have placed her among the top 10 at the national level.
