Brenau Leads in the ASC Rankings
GAINESVILLE, Ga - The Appalachian Swimming and Diving Conference released the first rankings of the season, for individual events and relays. The Brenau University swim team took the coveted 1st place position in 13, out of 16, individual events. In addition, the Golden Tigers took the spotlight in 2 of the 5 relays.
Brenau has set the bar with Michelle Billeaud (Lafayette, LA), Julia Ferreira (Indaiatuba, Brazil), Hannah Boudreaux (Lafayette, LA), and Meredith Barrington (Macon, GA) finishing 1st in the 200 Medley Relay (1:54.63) and 400 Free Relay (3:46.93).
When the rankings were announced for the top times in the conference, the Golden Tigers were well represented at the top of each event.
Lisa Portwood (Marietta, GA) was placed above all others in the 500 Free, with a time of 5:24.43.
Meredith Barrington proved to be the top competitor in the 50 Fly (28.87) and 200 Fly (2:17.21).
Hannah Boudreaux stole the spotlight in 5 events. She led in the 100 Breast (1:10.70), 200 Breast (2:30.18), 100 IM (1:05.11), 200 IM (2:14.18), and 400 IM (4:44.75).
The Golden Tigers are on the prowl this weekend, as they compete in the Pfeiffer and Queens Tri-Meet on Friday, October 28th, and the Catawba Relays Meet on Saturday, October 29th.
