Brenau Swim Team Heads to Oklahoma City

OKLAMHOMA CITY, OK - Brenau University Swim Team travels to Oklahoma City, OK this week (March 1-4) to compete in the NAIA National Championships. On the heels of a strong performance at the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships last weekend, where the team finished in a program best sixth place, Brenau hopes to take their success into the National Championships.
Brenau takes a team of five to the NAIA National meet this year, hosted by Oklahoma City Community College, OK. The team will compete with Meredith Barrington in the 100 Free, 100 Fly and 200 Fly; Michele Billeaud's events are the 50 Free, 100 Back and 200 Back; Hannah Boudreaux will compete in the 200IM, 400IM, and 200 Fly; Julia Ferreira will represent the team in the 100 and 200 Breast; and Lisa Portwood in the 200 Free, 500 Free and the 1650 Free. The team has also qualified to compete in the 200 Medley, 400 Medley, 200 Free, 400 Free and 800 Free relay races. The Golden Tigers hope to post new personal best times and set new records in their respective competitions.
