Nasstrom Commits to Brenau

Freestyle sprinter and breaststroker, Sophie Nasstrom of Sweden, has committed to swim for the Brenau University Golden Tigers beginning this fall.

Since she began swimming at the age of 5, Sophie has developed as an elite swimmer, competing year round for Stockholm based team, Polisen Sim. During her career, she has qualified for the Swedish Youth Nationals and Junior Nationals in the 50 Freestyle. Currently, Sophie attends school at Deutsche Shulke Stockholm and is interested in pursuing a Business major while at Brenau. Her current best times, 50 FR (24.4), 100 FR (54.7) and 100 BR (1:08.2), would rank her high within both the ASC and NAIA Nationals.

When asked why she chose Brenau, Sophie simply said that "it's the best."

"I am thrilled to welcome Sophie to Brenau University Swimming, her talents in both the pool and classroom are extraordinary. Sophie will instantly add strength to our sprint group and also specialize in breaststroke events, with her best times ranking her within the top sixteen on the NAIA National level and at top of our conference.
