Elite Open Water Swimmer Signs With Brenau

Brenau Swimming announces their third recruit for the 2013-2014 season, Courtney Hayward. A native of (Townsville, Queensland, AUS.), Courtney is an elite open water swimmer, having won five Queensland titles in the 5K and 10K distances and placing 3rd and 4th respectively at the Australian National Open Water Championships. Hayward has excelled in 200IM, 400 IM and 800 Free events at the Queensland Age Group Championships- earning bronze in all three events.

While attending St. Margaret Mary's, she was awarded the Caltex All Rounder Award, recognizing her excellence in academics, leadership, sporting and community service activities. At Brenau, Courtney will pursue a degree in Psychology.

When asked why she chose to attend Brenau, Courtney said "The main reason for joining Brenau is that I want to be part of a team environment that encourages hard work, motivates everyone to achieve their best and has a great team spirit. I believe I have found this team environment at Brenau University. I am really looking forward to being a part of the Golden Tigers swim team. I am also excited to continue my studies in a supportive and encouraging environment."

Hayward's motto is - You only get what you put in.
