Swimming Signs International Standout

Brenau Swimming announces the commitment of Talia Sola (Alcala de Henares Madrid, Spain), to the Golden Tigers Swim Team for fall 2013.

An avid swimmer since the age of five, Talia has developed into a nationally ranked swimmer in Spain, placing as high as second at the Spanish National Championships. She is also Madrid's record holder in the 50 meter backstroke.

Sola's hobbies include going to the movies, shopping and learning photography. When asked why she chose Brenau, Talia said, "I hope and wish to be a part of a working group with ambitions to grow athletically and as a person. According to my academic and sports expectations, Brenau University is the one that approaches both of these best."

According to head coach Blaire Bachman, "Talia is a backstroke specialist and extremely accomplished having competed at the Spanish Olympics, placing (10th) in the 50 back and (11th) in the 100 back. She will be a huge contributor to all relays and a lead sprinter for our growing program. We are excited to see Talia excel as a student-athlete at Brenau."

Sola, the fourth recruit of the season, plans to pursue a degree in Mass Communications.
