In dominating fashion, the Brenau Golden Tigers swim team defeated Lindsey Wilson College 136-36 on Saturday, winning all events during the meet.

The Golden Tigers set a season's best time in the 400 Medley Relay (4:08.20) as Talia Sola (Madrid, Spain), Mary Katherine Jabbia (Slidell, La.), Michelle Billeaud (Lafayette, La.) and Shelby Rumker (Douglas, Ga.) finished in first place. Freshman Bella Castille (Lafayette, La.) won the 1000 Free (11:16.25), followed by Sola touching first in the 200 Free (2:05.39) with a NAIA "B" cut. Swedish freshman Sophie Nasstrom and Rumker finished first and second respectively in the 50 Free with times of 26.06 and 26.45. Courtney Hayward (Townsville, AUS) continued her winning streak in the 200 IM with a time of 2:18.85, which was fast enough for a NAIA "B" cut, followed by Jabbia's second place finish in 2:20.27.
Other finishers include Michelle Billeaud with a season's best, 1:00.49 in the Fly, Talia Sola, who set a new Brenau record in the 100 Back in a time of 57.62 and Courtney Hayward with a season's best 5:16:03 in the 500 Freestyle. Billeaud and Jabbia also qualified for NAIA Nationals with a 1-2 finish in the 100 (1:10.98 and 1:11.54).
"I'm especially proud of the team this weekend, winning both meets and recording season best times," said head coach Blaire Bachman. "We are improving each time we race and learning how better to race each time, figuring out strategies that work best. Collectively, the strength of this group is undeniable and they always challenge one another to fast swimming."
The Golden Tigers continue their travels on November 8th when they travel to Lagrange, Ga. to face host LaGrange College and South Georgia College.
