Swimming Sets Season Best Times at Invitational
After day one of the Brenau Invitational, the Brenau Golden Tigers swim team is currently ranked fifth in the team standings with 86.5 points. University of West Florida leads the field with 212 points while Limestone (S.C.) College (215). SCAD-Savannah (206.5) and Converse (S.C.) College (158) fill out the top four.
For the Golden Tigers, Courtney Hayward (Townsville, AUS) captured 5th place in the 500 free with a season best time of 5:15.38, while Bella Castille (Lafayette, La.) finished 14th with 5:29.25. Mary Katherine Jabbia (Slidell, La.) finished the 200 IM in 13th place with a time of 2:18.27, while Michelle Billeaud (Lafayette, La.) finished 12th in the 50 Free in 25.51. The evening ended with a season best and 4th place meet finish in the 400 Medley relay with a time of 4:05.84.
"Tonight's atmosphere was perfect for fast swimming as our team did their best and had some tough races," said head coach Blaire Bachman. "We saw multiple season best time which is very encouraging."
The Invitational continues on Saturday with another full day of swimming.
