Hayward Named ASC Swimmer of the Week

Courtney Hayward, a freshman Townsville, Australia, was named Appalachian Swimming Conference Swimmer of the Week.

Hayward broke three school records and achieved five personal best times in leading the Golden Tigers to a fourth place finish at the SCAD Invitational. In her individuals, she took second in the 1650 Freestyle, fifth in the 200 Freestyle (1:55.65, 1:54.42 in prelims), third in the 400 IM (4:30.63), second in the 500 Freestyle (5:00.50) and seventh in the 200 IM (2:11.09). All five individual swims qualify her for the NAIA Meet.

In relay events she split 1:56.81 on the "A" 800 Free Relay, 25.77 on the "B" 200 Free Relay, 55.30 on the "B" 400 Medley Relay, and 54.64 on the "A" 400 Free Relay. Hayward currently ranks first in the 200 Freestyle, first in the 500 Freestyle, first in the 1000 Freestyle, first in the 1650, fourth in the 200 Fly, first in the 200 IM, and first in the 400 IM in the Appalachian Swimming Conference.
