Swimming Signs Local Athlete
Brenau Swimming announces the signing of Amanda Smith to the 2014-2015 team.
Smith, a native of Cumming, Georgia, is the daughter of Elisabeth and Bart Smith and a standout at South Forsyth High School. She is a Georgia High School Swimming Association qualifier and a Georgia Swimming State and sectional qualifier. Smith is also an outstanding academic performer and a member of the National Honor Society.
"I wanted to be a part of a team that is a family," said Smith. As soon as I met the girls, I fell in love and knew Brenau was the school for me, not only for my sport, but from an educational standpoint too. I know that Brenau and Coach Bachman will help me improve in the years to come".
"We are very excited to be signing Amanda, as she is an excellent student and a goal driven swimmer, with success on the club and high school levels," said head coach Blaire Bachman. "Her background in competitive swimming is extensive and she understands the commitment it takes to become a top level swimmer. Amanda's easy going and cheerful personality will be a great addition to our program and I see her being a major contributor in several different events for the Golden Tigers!"
Smith is the fourth commitment for the 2014-2015 season.
