Brenau Swimming announces the commitment of Alisha Hodgetts to the Golden Tigers Swim Team for the 2014-2015 season. Hodgetts, a native of Perth, Austrailia, attended St. Hilda's Anglican All Girls School and competed on the West Coast Swim Club (2005-2012) and Bayview Saints Swim Club (2012-present).
A standout swimmer, Hodgetts has qualified for the 2014 Commonwealth Games Trials, competed in the Australian London Olympic Trials, represented Australia at the Kuala Lumpar Swimming Tour-Partnership between Malaysian & Australian Swimmers and competed in the Australian Open National Championships in Sydney, AUS.
"Alisha is a very accomplished athlete and competitor," said head coach Blaire Bachman. "We are extremely happy she has chosen Brenau to continue her academic and athletic journey! She has her sights set on becoming an elite swimmer on the international scene. As a Golden Tiger, Alisha will lend her sprinting abilities in the butterfly, freestyle and individual medley events, and I expect her to make an immediate splash on the national scene."
When asked why she chose Brenau University, Hodgetts commented, "Brenau is a lovely, traditional place that is unique, and the swimming side to the University seems very motivational to help any athlete achieve their dream and goals."
Hodgetts plans to major in Business Administration and is the fifth signee to the Golden Tigers Swimming program for 2014-2015.
