Swimming Signs Spanish National Qualifier

Brenau swimming announces the signing of Maria Soledad Morell Quiroga to the 2014-2015 team.

The Palma De Mallorca, Spain native, who prefers to be called "Solin", most recently attended Granada University and competed with Club Deportivo Universitano where her accolades included top-three finishes in the Spanish National Championships and Territorial Competitions.

A specialist in middle distance freestyle, butterfly and the individual medley, Quiroga chose Brenau because she "wanted to improve as an athlete, to have new experiences and to learn better English".

Head coach Blaire Bachman added that, "Solin is a great addition to our swimming family. She exudes excitement for the sport and has a swimming resume that reflects natural talent and competitiveness".

"Solin will be a top competitor for us this season with her ability to be versatile in many strokes and events".

Bachman returns seven swimmers from last year's top four nationally ranked squad to the 2014-2015 team.
