Swimming Picked First In ASC Preseason Voting
After a historical 2014 season that was highlighted by a top-5 finish at the NAIA National Championships, the Brenau swim team was selected as the favorites for the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championship.
Wheeling Jesuit (W.V.) University was voted second by the ASC coaches, while Notre Dame (OH) College, Union (Ky.) College and Asbury (Ky.) College round out the top five.
"It is an honor to be selected as favorites in the Appalachian Swimming Conference," said head coach Blaire Bachman. "It boosts the team's confidence and also provides motivation".
"The team is always trying to see where we can make improvements and we will work hard throughout the regular season to prepare for the championship season".
The Golden Tigers, who return seven swimmers from last year's team and have added six talented newcomers, open their regular season schedule this Saturday at 1 pm against Columbia (S.C.) College, Berry (Ga.) College and Thomas (Ga.) University.
