Hayward Named ASC Swimmer of the Week

Sophomore Courtney Hayward was named Appalachian Swimming Conference Swimmer of the Week for her performance during October 5th-11th.

Hayward won all four of her individual races as the Golden Tigers finished first at the All Women's Invitational against Converse (S.C.) College, Sweet Briar (Va.) College, Columbia (S.C.) College, Hollins (Va.) College and Guilford (N.C.) College.

The Townsville, Austrailia native swam in the 1650 Freestyle (17:58.30), 400 IM (4:44.60), 500 Freestyle (5:19.21), and the 200 IM (2:17.05). Hayward also contributed with two first place relay finishes by leading-off the 400 Freestyle Relay in 57.09 (3:46.47) and splitting 26.95 on the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:45.12).

Hayward is currently ranked sixth in the 100 Freestyle, third in the 1650 and first in the 500 Freestyle, 400 IM, 1000 Freestyle and 1650 Freestyle among conference swimmers.
