Swimming Inks Transfer Norton For 2015

Brenau swimming announces the signing of Maggie Norton to the 2015-2016 team.

Norton, the daughter of Susan and Tony Norton, is a transfer from Mars Hill (N.C.) College.

While at Mars Hill College, Norton was an Appalachian Swimming Conference (ASC) finalist in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle and 200 backstroke.

During her scholastic career at St. Vincent's Academy in Savannah, Ga., Norton was named as the team's most valuable player during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

Norton also swam for the Georgia Coastal Aquatic Team (GCAT) for Coach Bill Forrester.

"Brenau has excellent academics and I love all the traditions of the university," said Norton. "As for swimming, the team seems very supportive of one another and they are all motivated to achieve their goals."

Head coach Blaire Bachman said, "Maggie is a wonderful addition to the Golden Tiger family, as she brings years of club and previous collegiate experience and accolades to Brenau. She is a very strong student and will help our team continue to carry the tradition of excellence in the classroom and fast swimming."

Norton is the second signing for 2015-16 for the #3 nationally-ranked Golden Tigers.
