Dowling Commits to Brenau Swimming
Brenau swimming announces the signing of Lindsay Dowling to the 2015-16 team.
Dowling is the daughter of Jennifer and Bruce Dowling and a standout athlete at Alexander High School in Douglasville, Georgia and for the Douglas County Stingrays swimming club.
At Alexander High School, Dowling was team captain each of her four years and a Georgia High School State Qualifier from 2012-2015. In 2015, she was a Top-16 finalist in both the 100 and 200 backstroke at the Georgia LC State Championships. She was also a Speedo Champions Serial Sectionals Qualifier in 2013 and 2014.
"I chose Brenau because of the atmosphere on campus," said Dowling. "The campus visits and meeting with Coach Bachman were very comfortable and I felt like I just fit right in."
"When I toured the campus and the nursing facility, I knew this was where I wanted to go to college."
Head Coach Blaire Bachman said about Dowling, ""We are thrilled to have Lindsay joining Brenau University as a student-athlete. She has proven to be among the top backstrokers in the state, and has the versatility to add depth to many different events including the IM and middle distance free."
"Lindsay's enthusiasm and determination will benefit the Golden Tigers tremendously."
Dowling, who plans on majoring in Nursing, is the third signing for 2015-16 for the #3 ranked Golden Tigers.
