Swim Rolls Past Columbia 114-64 in Dual Meet
The Brenau swim team captured seven first place finishes to overwhelm Columbia College 114-64 in a dual meet this past weekend in Spartanburg, SC.
Nikoletta Alvanou led the Golden Tigers with three individual first place wins and helped the 200 medley relay to first place against the host Koalas.
The Thessaloniki, Greece native won the 50 freestyle (4:50.17), the 200 butterfly (2:19.48) and the 500 freestyle (5:41.77) and joined teammates Haley Bartoletta, Lindsay Dowling and Haley Bernardo in the 200 medley relay (1:59.15) to earn another first place finish.
In the 200 freestyle, the Golden Tigers swept the top three places as Ashlyn Steinbach (2:06.13) captured top honors, while Bailey Ibarra (2:09.68) and Devin Horan (2:14.90) were second and third respectively.
The Golden Tigers added another sweep in the 50 freestyle as Alvanou, Bartoletta (4:57.09) and Meghan Mistric (5:13.22) earned top-three honors respectively.
Brenau also earned two more individual first-place finishes as Lindsay Dowling raced to the 200 backstroke title in 2:13.28 and Yanne Toussaint earned the 100 freestyle honors in 55:78.

Brenau next hits the pool at the Brenau Invitational on November 16-17 in Gainesville.
