Swim Competes at King Invitational Meet
Kingsport, Tennessee- The Brenau swimming and diving team opened the season at the King Invitational hosted by King College this past Saturday.
The squad opened the meet with a strong second place finish in the 200 freestyle relay as Fani Antoniadou, Yanne Toussaint, Harmina te Velthuis and Haley Bartoletta raced to a time of 1:41.88.
In the 50 freestyle, Aloniadou placed second place with a time 25.08, while she notched another top three finish in the 100 free in a time of 54.60.
Other top individual finishers include te Velthuis, who finished sixth in 25.32 and Toussaint who earned eighth in 25.76. te Velthuis also earned a fourth place finish in the 200 backstroke in 2:17.69.
The squad also added to the relay honors with a third place finish in the 400 medley relay as Harmina, Toussaint, Alvanou and Altoniadou raced to a time of 4:11.66, and in the 200 medley relay, the team of Meghan Mistric, Haley Bartoletta, Alvanou and Toussaint placed eleventh in 2:04.11.

Nikoletta Alvanou, eleventh place, 200 IM, 2:20.21, sixth place, 400 IM, 4:51.55;
Haley Bartoletta, thirteenth place, 200IM, 2:22.20; ninth place, 400 IM, 5:02.27;
Bailey Ibarra, twenty fourth place, 100 free, 59:58;
Meghan Mistric, seventeenth place, 2:27.07;
Harmina te Velthuis eighth place, 500 freestyle, 5:27.13; fifth place, 200 freestyle, 2:02.31;
Yanne Toussaint, eighth place, 200 IM, 2:19.21; seventh place, 100 breaststroke, 1:11.87; fifth place, 100 backstroke, 1:02.19;
Carson Newman University won the event with 1169 team points, while Catawba (N.C.) College (545.5 points) and King University (351 points) round out the top three finishers.
Brenau next travels to face Converse (S.C.) College on October 12th in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
