Swim Places Fourth at Emmanuel Winter Meet
Franklin Springs, Georgia- In the team's first meet of the spring semester, the Brenau swim team competed at the Emmanuel College Winter Meet this past weekend.
The team captured three top three finishes and amassed 244 points to capture third place at the event.
Senior Nikoletta Alvanou paced the squad with a second place finish in the 400 IM, while junior Bayley Blackmon and freshman Melanie Wicht added a pair of third place finishes. Blackmon outpaced a competitive group to notch third place in the 50 freestyle in 25.44, while Wicht added a third place finish in the 1650 freestyle in 19:57.40.

UNC Pembroke took top honors with 481 points, while host Emmanuel (Ga.) College earned second place with 425 points.Brenau earned 244 points to place third, while fellow Appalachian Athletic Conference competitor Point (Ga.) University placed fourth with 99 points.
Brenau next travels to compete at Converse (S.C.) College on January 30 in preparation for the upcoming Appalachian Athletic Conference meet from February 11-13.
