Swimming Places Second at Emmanuel Invite

Franklin Springs, Georgia- The Brenau swim team placed second at the Emmanuel College Invite this past weekend.

Freshman Tessa Ip Hen Cheung captured top honors in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:06.60 and also added a fourth place finish in the 50 freestyle in 25.63.

Two relay teams also showed well as the 400 medley relay team of Hannah Tomlinson, Tessa Ip Hen Cheung, Emma Verkuyl and Olga Bukowska placed second in the time of 4:04.15, and the 200 freestyle relay team of Melanie Wicht, Bailey Hodges, Hannah Miltiades and Calli Edens placed sixth with a time of 1:57.24.

Olga Bukowska, second place, 1000 freestyle, 11:07.65; third place, 500 freestyle, 5:24.08;

Calli Edens, seventh place, 100 backstroke, 1:11.00; eighth place, 50 freestyle, 28.82;

Bailey Hodges, sixth place, 50 freestyle, 27.39, sixth place, 100 freestyle, 1:00.67;

Hannah Miltiades, ninth place, 100 breaststroke, 1:39.36; 

Hannah Tomlinson, second place, 100 backstroke, 1:01.75; third place, 200 freestyle, 2:04.94;

Emma Verkuyl, fourth place, 200 IM, 2:22.02, fourth place, 100 butterfly, 1:01.17;

Melanie Wicht, sixth place, 200 freestyle, 2:20.86, eighth place, 100 butterfly, 1:15.88;

The Golden Tigers amassed 439.9 points to finish behind meet winner and host, Emmanuel College who had 466.1 points. Point (Ga.) and Mars Hill (NC) placed third and fourth respectively.
