Swim Continues to Excel at 2024 AAC Championships.
Kingsport, Tennessee- The Brenau swim team continued to perform at a high level on the second day of competition at the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Hannah Tomlinson, Sofia Bellocchio, Olga Bukowska and Emma Verkuyul raced to a time of 1:41.02 to earn third place.
Individually, freshman Olga Bulkowski continued her strong performance at the championships with an individual title in the 400 IM with a time of 4:37.76.
In the 100 butterfly, Brenau had a solid showing as Emma Verkuyl added all-conference honors with a second place finish (57.95), Sofia Bellocchio placed fifth overall (1:00.76) and Melanie Wicht added a 10th place finish (1:11.77).
Other Golden Tigers finishers on day two of competition include:
Sofia Bellocchio, fifth place, 100 backstroke, 1:02.94;
Callie Edens: 12th place, 100 backstroke, 1:07.83;
Bailey Hodges: sixth place, 200 freestyle, 2:07.99; 10th place, 100 backstroke, 1:05.53;
Hannah Miltiades: ninth place, 100 breaststroke, 1:30.23;
Hannah Tomlinson: fourth place, 100 backstroke, 1:01.28;
The Golden Tigers amassed 314 points to hang in second place and sit four points ahead of third place Union (Ky.) going into the final day of competition. Defending champion Milligan (Tn.) sits securely in first place with 638 points.
