Brenau Tennis Ranked #7 in NAIA Poll
February 10, 2010
Kansas City, MO Following a strong showing in last year's National Championship where the Brenau tennis team reached the quarterfinal before losing to the number 2 seed and eventual runner-up Fresno Pacific, the Tigers enter the 2010 season ranked 7th in the nation. Solid performances during the fall season in various tournaments also meant that freshman All American (second team) Lyn See Choo and junior Katarina Mazackova are ranked 10th and 13th respectively by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Jolene Wong and Eline Nagels are also ranked and the team of Choo and Mazackova are ranked 2nd in the ITA Southern Region and 5th in the nation.
The Tigers will once again face a tough schedule with many matches against NCAA
teams. They are picked to finish 2nd behind AUM in the SSAC but will face strong competition from not only the six time defending National Champions AUM, but also the nationally ranked teams of Shorter College and Lee University that will be fielding much stronger squads this season. Brenau will open their season tomorrow (Thursday) at home against NCAA II North Georgia at 2 pm.
