Tigers Tennis Falls at Columbus State
February 18, 2010
Columbus, GA- Two top ten tennis programs faced off today and the homestanding NCAA II #8 Columbus State Cougars emerged with a win over NAIA #7 Brenau University by a score of 8-1. Things started off poorly for the Tigers when they were defeated in all three doubles matches, an area they usually dominate. Two of the three contests went down to the wire, but Brenau came up on the short end as #1 pair Lyn See Choo and Kate Mazackova lost 8-6 and Hannah Thompson/Eline Nagels dropped a 9-7 decision. Nagels (Antwerp, Belgium) came up with the only victory in singles play as the Tigers evened their season record at 1-1. Next up for Brenau will be another tough NCAA program when they face Emory at the Brenau courts on Saturday at 11 am.
