Choo Captures All-American Title
Kansas City, MO - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2011 Women's Tennis All-Americans. Players were selected by the All-America Committee. 32 student-athletes were named to the First and Second Teams, while 13 others were honorable mention selections.
Lyn See Choo (Kuching, Malaysia), played in the No. 1 spot, in doubles and singles competition, for the No. 8 Brenau University Tennis Team. With of combined efforts of her and her partner, Hannah Thompson, the duo managed to earn a national ranking, in doubles. When Choo and Thompson defeated Vanguard's No. 5 ranked doubles team, their ranking escalated within the Top 20, at the No. 17 spot.
Moreover, this is not Choo's first All-American Selection. As a freshman, in 2009, she earned the honor of being named to the Women's Tennis All-American Second Team, while she became a member of the All-American First Team, her sophomore year. Now, at the close of her junior season, Choo is able to celebrate this prestigious title once more, as she earns her place again, on the First Team.
Andre Ferreira, Head Tennis Coach, shares in her excitement as he says, "Being named First Team All-American is a mere consequence of Lyn See's talent and work ethic. She plays an integral part on the success of our program, both on and off the court. And as I said before, Lyn See belongs among the top tennis players in the NAIA".
