Brenau Tennis Team Impressive on Day One

The NAIA #7 ranked Golden Tigers were impressive today- taking down # 10 ranked Southern Nazarene University (OK) by the score of 5-0. Brenau took all three points in doubles play and then Eline Nagels and Tiffany de Almeida won easily at singles #5 and #6 respectively to close out the day.

Brenau will now turn their attention to the #2 seed, Fresno Pacific (CA) in tomorrow's quarterfinal match-up at 9am. Fresno defeated Indiana Wesleyan University by the score of 5-0 earlier today and was also the same team that eliminated the Golden Tigers from last year's national tournament. A confident Coach Ferreira had this today about his team's performance,

"We came out strong in doubles today and I was very happy with the way we performed. Southern Nazarene has had a very good season this year and we expected a tough match. It is great to move forward in the tournament and, once again, be amongst the top 8 teams at Nationals! We look forward to facing Fresno Pacific tomorrow morning.
