Four Tennis Players Named All-American
Four Brenau tennis players were named to the 2014 NAIA Women's Tennis All-American team on Monday.
Senior Dominika Jasova and junior Maria Perdomo Medina were each selected as First Team All-Americans while senior Stephanie Moniz and Zalina Nazarova were chosen as Honorable Mention All-Americans.
Jasova caps off a stellar career as a four time NAIA All-American selection. The senior was also awarded the prestigious ITA/Arthur Ashe Jr. Sportsmanship and Leadership Award earlier in the week.
Another second time honoree, Perdomo Medina returns to All-American status for her junior season. The Canary Island, Spain native also topped off her season as a 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete and as an ITA South region Player to Watch.
Nazarova is a two-time Honorable Mention All-American, while for Moniz, the All-American recognition is her first after battling injuries throughout her career.
"I just need to congratulate all of them," said head coach Andre Ferreira. "They played consistently well throughout the year, against the best teams and best players in the NAIA. This is what it takes to be recognized at the national level"
