Tennis Jumps To #3 in NAIA Poll
In the fifth National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the Brenau Golden Tigers jumped two spots from fifth to third.
After playing a rigorous schedule, including wins over conference opponents #18 College of Coastal Georgia and #21 William Carey (Miss.) College, the Golden Tigers received 339 points to leap #4 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College and replace previously ranked #3 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University.
"We are moving in the right direction," said head coach Andre Ferreira of his team's rise. "This is our highest ranking as a team this season. It feels good but the work is not done yet. There is still a lot of tennis from now until middle of May. The goal is to play our best tennis at nationals."
Brenau will next travel to Mobile Alabama for the Southern States Athletic Conference Championships this weekend.
