Tennis Drops Match Against UNG
The #4 Brenau tennis team fell to the University of North Georgia 9-0 in a non-conference matchup on Sunday in Gainesville.
Against a formidable Nighthawks squad, the Golden Tigers were unable to overcome forfeits at #3 doubles and #6 singles. Maya Mammetgulyyeva put up a strong fight in #1 singles with a 6-4, 6-4 loss, while Paula Rives also competed well in #4 singles.
"We have a good relationship with UNG and they are getting better each year," said head coach Andre Ferreira. "You can see that from our results today. These are tough losses but great competition before conference play begins. We believe these matches will help our team in the long run."
Brenau (0-2 overall) next competes at NCAA Divison I University of Tennessee-Chattanooga on Friday at 6 pm eastern.
