Tennis Defeats Reinhardt 6-1 in AAC Matchup
Gainesville, Georgia- The #8 Brenau tennis team captured its second Appalachian Athletic Conference win of the season with a decisive 6-1 victory over Reinhardt (Ga.) University at the Lessie Smithgall Tennis Center on Friday.
After earning the doubles victory, Brenau captured five of six singles wins, including a sweep of the top three singles matches to improve the team's AAC record to 3-0 and stay undefeated in conference play.
"I feel this was an important victory for our team," said head coach Andre Ferreira. "We faced adversity in the last few matches and had to go back to the drawing board to make some changes. The team did a good job implementing our plan today and I feel this was a good step in the right direction. I'm looking forward to building confidence as we test ourselves during practices and upcoming matches."
Brenau (6-1 overall, 2-0 AAC) next hosts #24 Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University (4-2 overall) in a non-conference match on March 12th at 3:00 pm.
