Golden Tigers Tennis Well Represented in ITA Rankings
Tempe, Arizona- In the April Oracle ITA/NAIA Women's Tennis Rankings, the #7 Brenau University tennis team placed three singles players and a doubles pairing in the national rankings, the ITA announced on Thursday.
Sophomore Elyse Lavender earned the top spot with a #1 national singles ranking. The Boynton Beach, Fla. native previously defeated both the second and third ranked players- Maria Genovese and Madeline Bosnjak from Georgia Gwinnett College- to hold the top spot for the entire year.
Two other singles players also captured top-50 honors as sophomore Juana Zambrano notched a career-high #22 ranking, while junior Peeraya Charoensirisutthikul earned #35th place nationally.
Additionally, the doubles paring of Lavender and Charoensirisutthikul notched a sixth place ranking to lead all Appalachian Athletic Conference teams.
