Tennis Defeats Bluefield 7-0 in Conference Play

Gainesville, Georgia- The #15 ranked Brenau tennis team rolled past Bluefield College (Va.) 7-0 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup at the Lessie Smithgall Tennis Complex on Wednesday.

After the Golden Tigers swept all three doubles matches, sophomore Bianca Andersen opened singles competition with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Kassidy Brown. At #4 singles, freshman Sally Brannon dispatched Katharina Zausek in a 6-0, 6-0 straight set victory, while junior Evelin Gouveia then defeated Hannah Thacker 6-0, 6-2 to clinch the match.

Senior Peeraya Charoensirisutthikul and freshmen Sally Brannon and Sydney Patterson also won singles matches over the visiting Rams.

"It was nice to get a conference win," said head coach Andre Ferreira. "We made a couple of changes in doubles and singles, and I was pleased with the way our team adjusted. We've got great depth on our lineup and that's helping us to make adjustments between matches. We will have a tough challenge and opportunity on Sunday against Union."

Brenau (4-1 overall, 2-1 AAC) next hosts #10 Union College (Ky.) (3-0 overall, 0-0 AAC) on Sunday at 1 pm in an AAC matchup featuring two top-15 teams.
