#15 Tennis Rolls Past Milligan University 7-0

Gainesville, Georgia- The #15 Brenau tennis team shut out Milligan University (Tenn.) 7-0 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Saturday.

The Golden Tigers swept all three doubles matches, then in singles play, freshman MaryWynn Brannon held off Milligan's Macy Kennedy, 1-6, 6-2, 1-0(10), to win the closest match of the afternoon.

"This was a good win for our team today against a tough Milligan program," said Andre Ferreira. "The doubles point wasn't easy and I thought our team did well handling the pressure early on in doubles, which eventually gave us the opportunity to increase the lead and win on all three courts. And in singles we did a good job closing the match out and also coming back from behind on court #3 to win all singles matches."

Brenau (5-2 overall, 3-2 AAC) next takes on #11 Montreat College (N.C.) (4-4 overall, 2-2 AAC) on Thursday at 1:30 pm in Montreat, North Carolina.
