Tennis Sweeps Johnson 7-0 in AAC Play

Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau tennis team defeated Johnson (TN.) University 7-0 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday.

The Golden Tigers overwhelmed the visiting Royals in doubles play to secure the doubles point. The momentum continued into singles play as Brenau cruised to victory.

“Our team is improving and I’m excited about the work they are putting in,” said head coach Andre Ferreira. “Once again, everyone had a chance to compete today, and that’s preparing every player for the season and matches ahead. Yousra Hidass came back from 3-5 in the first set to win 7-6 and then kept the momentum to win 6-1 the following set.”

Brenau (2-1 overall, 2-1 AAC) next takes #4 Southeastern (Fla.) University (1-2 overall, 0-0 AAC) on Friday at 9 am and Cumberland (TN.) on Saturday at 9:30 am in Macon, Ga.
