Indoor Track Competes at KMS Invitational

Birmingham, Alabama- Members of the Brenau indoor track team competed at the KMS Invitational this past weekend.

In a talent-laden field, the Golden Tigers had a number of strong performances at the indoor meet.

"We competed well and had some good showings at the meet," said head coach Byron Kramer. "Most importantly, we made our conference standards and I look forward to the remainder of the indoor season."

Brenau finishers include:

High Jump

Kanyisola Anjorin, 13^th place, 1.45m;

Weight Throw

Deeanna Joseph, 17^th place, 13.43m;

Jailyn Kendrick, 18^th place, 13.15m;

Triple Jump

Mitchel Alex, fourth place, 11.13m

Pole Vault

Carley Buffington, sixth place, 2.45m;

Taylor Love, seventh place, 2.45m;

Cassidi Jones, eighth place, 2.30m;

Shot Put

Jailyn Kendrick, 15^th place, 11.24m;

600 meter run

Jayda Burkett, seventh place, 1:45.43;

Kayland Thomason, eighth place, 1:46.32;

Mile Run

Shannon Hoolahan, 21^st place, 6:12.56;

400 meter run

Jayda Burkett, 20^th place, 1:02.41;

800 meter run

Kanyisola Anjorin, 19^th place, 2:52.20

200 meter run

Myia Neal, 25^th place, 27.52m;

3000 meter run

The relay teams also had a strong performance. Finishes include:

4x200 relay team, (Talara Harper, Shatrice Dixon, Oluwatomisin John and Mitchel Alex) second place, 1:48.85;

Women's Distance Medley relay, (Shannon Hoolahan, Keren Kapwadi, Zoie Gardner and Bianca Orr) fifth place, 14:37.74;

4x400 meter relay (Myia Neal, Kayland Thomason, Jayda Burkett and Kanyisola Anjorin) eleventh place, 4:16.73;

The team will next compete at the AAC Indoor Championships in Winston Salem, North Carolina on February 20^th.
