Indoor Track Competes at KMS Invitational
Birmingham, Alabama- The Brenau indoor track and field team posted multiple top twenty finishes and an overall solid showing at the KMS Invitational this past weekend.
Senior Talara Harper led the Golden Tigers by capturing the long jump with a leap of 5.41 meters. The Sugar Hill, Ga. native outjumped 43 other competitors en route to earning top honors in the event. Harper also earned 18th place in the 60 meter dash, 17th place in the 200 yard dash and 11th place in the long jump.
Fellow senior TyLeeah Maddox also continued her strong indoor season with a jump of 1.55 m to take fifth place in the high jump. Maddox also earned a 23rd place finish in the shot put with a throw of 9.41m.
Newcomer Hannah Buller also had an outstanding performance in the pole vault. The Goddard, Kansas native was only .30 meters behind the event champion and outpaced 22 other competitors.
Nathalia Rowe also followed up last week's solid performance with a sixth place finish in the 400 meters. The freshman also posted a 24th place in the long jump with a leap of 4.61m;
Additionally, the distance medley relay team of Lahna Wempner, Amaranta Serna, Keren Kapwadi and Zoie Gardner captured fourth place with a time of 15:21.25;

Shatrice Dixon, 13th place, triple jump; 22nd place, 60 meter dash;
Skylar Simon, 20th place, high jump; 26th place, 60 meter hurdles;
Oluwatomisin John, 27th place, 200 meter dash;
Kayland Thomason, 11th place, 600 meter dash;
Keren Kapwadi, 13th place, 600 meter run;
Amaranta Serna, 19th place, 800 meter run;
The Golden Tigers continue the indoor season at the JDL Multimeet on February 8th in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
